Marks of Fruitfulness

Purpose
The North Texas Conference strives to cultivate clergy fruitfulness. From the moment of initially discerning one’s call that extends beyond the status of retirement, clergy are encouraged to keep growing and maturing by God's grace. The CLD in conversation with the Board of Ordained Ministry and the Board of Laity has identified three formative arenas of fruitfulness: Living Discipleship Fruitfulness, Leading Congregational Fruitfulness, and Developing Missional Fruitfulness.
These three arenas are further lived out in twenty skills and competencies necessary for the church's mission of kerygma (proclamation), koinonia (fellowship) and diakonia (service). These twenty identifiable and measurable skills and competencies informs an ongoing process and system for evaluation, feedback, resourcing and life-long learning. The purpose of ongoing evaluation and feedback "is not to prove but to improve." "Evaluation can be considered an ongoing process that strengthens our ministry, giving us the opportunity to reflect periodically on how well we are fulfilling our commitments to Christ, the church, and one another."
The "Marks of Fruitfulness" is the North Texas Conference's online system for providing evaluative tools, feedback, mentoring and coaching resources, and improving clergy fruitfulness as disciples, as leaders of congregations, and as missional developers in the community and world.
